About the Project

Sweet Spot Bakery is a delectable bakery that specializes in an array of cakes and cupcakes, offering a myriad of flavors to satisfy every sweet tooth. However, with such an extensive selection, customers can sometimes find it challenging to navigate through their options and complete their purchases efficiently.

To address this, Sweet Spot Bakery sought out my team and I to enhance their online shopping experience. Our primary objective was to streamline the checkout process and introduce robust filtering options, making it easier for customers to find exactly what they’re looking for and complete their purchases with ease.

Our team was tasked with designing a website that not only showcased the bakery's mouth-watering offerings but also embodied the warm and inviting essence of Sweet Spot Bakery. By simplifying the user journey and improving site functionality, we aimed to boost customer engagement and satisfaction, ensuring that every visitor could effortlessly indulge in the delightful world of Sweet Spot Bakery.

Dessert lovers often feel overwhelmed by the extensive variety of cakes and cupcakes at Sweet Spot Bakery. Without efficient filtering options and an easy checkout process, customers can struggle to find their perfect treat, leading to frustration and abandoned carts.

By improving these aspects, Sweet Spot Bakery aims to provide a seamless shopping experience, allowing customers to quickly and easily find their favorite desserts. This will enhance customer satisfaction and build a loyal customer base.

Journey Map

Michael’s scenario helped guide the team to design with consideration, ensuring a smooth and efficient ordering process. We crafted a journey map using insights from interviews and competitive analysis to represent the steps users like Michael took to find and order treats for their team. This included implementing features that allow easy filtering of dietary options and scheduling orders in advance, meeting the needs of busy professionals like Michael.

IDEATION

During the design phase, I developed mid-fidelity wireframes in Figma to establish a foundation for our design. I focused on creating a user-friendly interface for Sweet Spot Bakery, ensuring that the design facilitated easy navigation and efficient ordering for customers.

CONCLUSION

Redesigning Sweet Spot Bakery's online platform was a rewarding challenge. Despite its already delightful offerings, we conducted extensive competitive analysis and user interviews to guide our enhancements. By focusing on ease of use and tailored filtering options, we aimed to increase customer engagement and satisfaction.

Looking ahead, I intend to observe how users interact with the new features, particularly those aimed at simplifying dietary filtering and order placement. This ongoing research will help refine the bakery's online experience, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of our loyal customers.
